The Most Famous Sheriff You Never Heard Of: Sheriff Grady Judd of Florida’s Polk County Sheriff’s Office will speak about high-profile cases of organized retail crime
His name isn’t as recognizable as Brad Pitt, at least to most of us, but the cases this person has worked on garnered a similar amount of media attention. If you’ve heard about a major organized retail crime bust that uncovered $100 million in retail losses, and led to the arrest of 18 people this past January, seen the YouTube video that shows the beating of a teen girl by six other girls, or, most recently, read about the principal who posted photos of students on scantily clad models, you might be surprised to know that one person has been right in the middle of all of it. Each of these events happened in Polk County, Florida, and Grady Judd, the Polk County Sheriff, has definitely been earning his paycheck. NRF announced today that Sheriff Judd will be a keynote speaker at our LP conference in a few weeks. I am honored and excited to welcome him to the show.Â
Â
Sheriff Judd and I have something in common—we truly believe in the value of educating the public about organized retail crime. During Sheriff Judd’s keynote at the opening session of the LP show, he will address the importance of partnering with local retailers and others in the private sector. He will also share his story about uncovering the organized retail crime ring and about how his team worked with local retailers to track the criminals. Â
Â
Through our LP conference, and in other ways, NRF continues to bridge the gap between the public and private sectors by connecting retailers and law enforcement. We are lucky to have such a strong law enforcement partner who’s had a lot of visibility join us at the conference this year. Sheriff Judd will make our opening session a huge hit and will add a lot of value for our attendees. I hope to see you there. Â

As a resident of Polk County, FL, as well as a Loss Prevention professional who has the opportunity to work with Sheriff Judd, I can attest to his professionalism and dedication to providing premier service to the residents of the county. I am looking forward to a dynamic address presented by Sheriff Judd.

His dealings with ORC, You Tube, and the media in general, should be of value to all of us in Loss Prevention

My husband and myself have been following Grady Judd, for a few years. We always say if that man would only run for president, we would really have someone great to vote for. We live in Citrus County away from his district, but always are impressed with what he does for his County. Keep up the great work Mr. Grady.
Sheriff Grady Judd is the most awesome person I’ve seen yet! Every time he speaks, I’m listening because it’s always right on target. He’s honest and real. He SHOULD run for president! We’ve seriously considered moving to Polk County just because of him. We like what he stands for. If only he could be duplicated….
