About NRF
The National Retail Federation is the world’s largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, independent stores, chain restaurants, drug stores and grocery stores as well as the industry’s key trading partners of retail goods and services. NRF represents an industry with more than 1.6 million U.S. retail companies, more than 25 million employees - about one in five American workers - and 2007 sales of $4.5 trillion. As the industry umbrella group, NRF also represents over 100 state, national and international retail associations.
Under NRF’s retail umbrella, sit 4 association groups including: the Association for Retail Technology Standards, the National Council of Chain Restaurants, the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association and Shop.org. Additional information on these groups can be found at NRF Divisions.
In addition to the divisions, NRF has a research and education arms as well as a monthly magazine. The NRF Foundation (NRFF) is a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation that conducts industry research, develops education and workforce development programs, and promotes retailing as a career destination. STORES magazine is the monthly magazine of the National Retail Federation, covering issues of importance to today’s senior retail professional.
